Calm
Sept 13
There are always wonderful sunsets with interesting clouds just before a tropical storm. Even the moon made an appearance! Florence is now a mere Cat 2 storm, yet it is still very powerful and large. The storm will make landfall on the NC coast later today and fortunately it will track south of us but we will still experience wind and torrential rains for the next 4 days. I am 150 or so miles from the coast already there is cloud cover from the storm , which is still 200+ miles off the coast. A VERY huge storm!

on September 13, 2018Beautiful sunset. Let's hope it's an omen for better days to come, sooner rather than later.
I read this morning that the storm is now four times the size of Ohio!!! Yikes. Also heard someone who works in emergency response on one of the coastal islands say that once winds reach a sustained 45 mph they won't risk taking their vehicles out. That might be happening in the next few hours.
Hope you remain safe. Hoping, too, for no loss of life among those more in harm's way than you.

on September 13, 2018very lovely sunset shot! Wishing you the best here with the storm! I am just over the state line here in VA and closer to the coast. Thankfully I am not on the water like some of my friends who have had to leave. Like you am glad the storm is down in strength and hope it drops more as a lot of rain and surge will hurt area's . Everyone stay safe & HAGD
