Early Sunday morning after photographing the partial eclipse, I noticed how beautiful and golden the world looked! Maybe I should get up before sunrise more often!

Solar Eclipse

Yesterday morning, parts of eastern US and countries east of the US had an early morning treat! I had to crawl out of my warm cozy bed and venture out into freezing predawn temps to get this shot of the partial eclipse at sunrise! There were a few other photographers sprinkled roadside along Jordan lake so it turned into a small photo workshop! The eclipse lasted only about 20 min, then the moon moved away from the sun. Parts of Africa were able to witness the total eclipse.

The fence

I saw this fence in the middle of this field during a drive through the country. I'm not sure what purpose it serves, but I liked the contrast of the white against the sea of greenery!

This fisherman slowly made his way to the docks after a day of fishing at Falls Lake. The lighting was boring so I decided to use an orange filter to make the scene a little more interesting.

Moon setting

This was taken about 30 min before sunrise at Myrtle beach. I was pleasantly surprised to see the moon low in the sky since I was thinking only of photographing the sunrise when I crawled out of bed! I added a little pizzazz to the moon with a Topaz filter.

Southern snow

This was taken on Feb 17 after a small wintry event in NC. No snow accumulated at my house!! This is about 45 min north of the city. Imagine my surprise to see snow while we were out for an afternoon drive!
