I Ssssssee you!
Visited one of favorite lakes yesterday to find the lake level had risen high into the park area due to tropical storm Andrea Friday. The local animals had to move inland to higher ground including this guy, which we saw slithering along, sneaking around bushes and shrubs.
Update: This species is known as a Black rat snake. Fairly common in NC.
